Everybody is happy to eat the sausage but nobody wants to know how it's made (2022)  Using this analogy of the dirty sausage, I designed cotton replicas that represent the different production stages of a simple cotton t-shirt. For example, some sausages were stuffed with raw cotton or cotton yarn and others with a cut and sew pattern printed on the sausage casing. Attached to each sausage is a butchers tag with a QR code that takes you to a webpage containing more information about the ecologically destructive nature of each manufacturing phase. The analogy of the sausage comes from the contrast between the simplicity of a cotton t-shirt and the hidden complexity of it's production process which often takes place all over the world before finally arriving in the country that it's sold.
